James got his start while finishing his BA at Moody
Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
The fine city of Chicago offered many opportunities for the up and
coming audio engineer including WCFC-TV, Media Control and nationally
distributed radio programming through Moody Memorial church.
While in the U.S. James was privileged to work with Todd Busteed, (Gap Digital, Earflix) one of the nations leading producers of dramatic audio. James’ work on The New Living Translation Dramatic Audio and Left Behind (based on the best-selling series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins) laid a strong foundation for his future audio projects.
After freelancing in the audio industry for a total of eight years, James Kent founded JK Sound Studios in 2002. With his degree in communications and a vast array of experience in and out of the studio, James brings exceptional talent and finely honed skills to the company.
James joined the Computer Sciences Unit of McMaster University, Faculty of Health Sciences as an AV/IT Specialist in 2009.
James resides in Caledonia with his wife and four children.
